Product Description

SVG

RuncoN Static VAR Generator (SVG), also known as a Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM), is a power electronic device used for reactive power compensation in electrical power systems. It helps stabilize voltage, improve power factor, and enhance the efficiency of the electrical grid.

Key Features of an SVG

  1. Dynamic Reactive Power Compensation: Provides fast and precise compensation for reactive power demand in real-time.
  2. Improved Power Factor: Maintains near-unity power factor by supplying or absorbing reactive power.
  3. Voltage Stabilization: Keeps voltage levels stable by dynamically adjusting reactive power.
  4. Harmonic Mitigation: Reduces harmonics in the power system, improving power quality.
  5. Compact Design: Smaller in size compared to traditional compensators like SVCs (Static VAR Compensators).

How SVG Works

  1. Sensing: Measures real-time voltage and current in the power system.
  2. Control System: Processes these measurements to calculate the amount of reactive power needed.
  3. Power Electronics: Uses IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) or other power electronic devices to inject or absorb reactive power.
  4. Output: The SVG dynamically adjusts the output to balance the reactive power, ensuring voltage stability.
